Emo Kid Dance Party | Eleven Years Later

Emo

At this point, it’s hard to recall when this idea first started. The year was 2009, that much I do remember. I was deep into comic books, computers and dance music for some odd reason. Originally, Emo Kid Dance Party was meant to be self-produced dance music that sounded sort of like DeadMau5 and The Faint started a side project together. I’ve carried this concept around with me now for a decade and while it is far from that original dream concocted in a dimly lit basement, filled with smoke and the white noise of people talking over one another, I am still immensely proud to share this, the latest incarnation, that sounds sort of like Kay Slay and DJ Clue started Vagrant Records only to break up and form separate indy labels with neither showing clear direction. Here’s hoping you enjoy it.

Featured on this mixtape:

Midtown, Save Ferris, Nightmare of You, Placebo, Incubus, MSTRKRFT, No Doubt, The Chainsmokers and Alkaline Trio

(All songs written and owned by the bands that created them)
